WHY DOES THIS EXIST?

A tiny browser game for people who scroll way too hard.

The idea

BeatMyScroll turns one of the most ordinary actions on the internet into a competitive speed-and-endurance game. Instead of measuring how far a page moves, it measures the intensity of your wheel movements, trackpad input or touch swipes while you try to keep a run alive.

The goal is deliberately simple: build speed, survive the inactivity timer, hit optional RUSH targets and finish with a score worth sharing.

What the game measures

Each run records a raw score, survival time, average scroll speed, maximum scroll speed and highest combo. Speed is displayed as scrolls per second using BeatMyScroll's normalized input unit so players can compare runs without relying on browser-page distance.

Why the visuals get ridiculous

The game is designed to make speed feel visible. As your pace rises, calm grid lines become speed lines and the interface progresses through increasingly intense visual and audio stages. On older hardware, BeatMyScroll automatically reduces expensive decorative effects while keeping the scoring rules and timing unchanged.

Competitive play

Players can optionally submit a short username after a run. The global leaderboard tracks three separate Top 15 rankings: raw score, average speed and maximum speed. Joining the leaderboard is optional and an account is not required to play.

Independent project

BeatMyScroll is an independent web-game project. It is not affiliated with Google, Cloudflare, browser manufacturers, mouse manufacturers or any of the third-party characters, music or visual references that may be used in prototype game effects.
